OLD TOWN, Maine, Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TurbineOne, a defense technology company delivering edge-first artificial intelligence for frontline operators, today opened T1 MachineWorks in Old Town, Maine, expanding the company’s U.S. footprint and capacity to develop technologies for defense missions.
The opening comes amid significant growth for TurbineOne, which is executing a nearly $99 million U.S. Army contract as its technology is deployed across the U.S. military.
TurbineOne’s edge-first technology enables operators to deploy and adapt AI on tactical hardware in connected and disconnected environments. T1 MachineWorks will provide a dedicated environment for TurbineOne engineers to develop and test new capabilities while working closely with Maine manufacturing partners. This will include experimentation with autonomous systems and cross-platform autonomy software, as well as 3D manufacturing and rapid prototyping for aerial platforms and other defense technology applications.

The company expects to make an initial $275,000 investment in its Old Town operations, strengthening its presence within Maine’s growing defense technology and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The location was selected for its proximity to the University of Maine and access to aerial and maritime environments for real-world testing.
