EOS Investors LLC (“EOS”), the real estate investment firm founded in 2017 by Jonathan Wang, today announced its acquisition of The Press Hotel, Autograph Collection, a 110-key lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Portland, Maine. The acquisition adds a top Portland hotel to EOS’s New England portfolio, encompassing 16 hotels, including eleven in Maine specifically.
“We are excited to add The Press, a premier hotel in the heart of one of New England’s most dynamic lodging markets, to the EOS portfolio. This acquisition aligns with our strategy of investing in high-quality, leisure-driven assets where we see opportunity to further enhance performance and unlock additional value. Our prior investments and established presence in Maine uniquely positioned EOS to pursue this opportunity,” said Jenna Kronenfeld, Head of Acquisitions at EOS Investors. “We look forward to building upon the hotel’s storied history and continuing its legacy as one of Portland’s most distinctive hospitality destinations.”
Simon Mais, Chief Executive Officer of EOS Hospitality, added, “The Press Hotel is a unique property that reflects Portland’s character. We are committed to building upon the hotel’s existing strengths and continuing to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Through EOS Hospitality’s operational platform, we see opportunities to refine the property’s offerings while preserving the qualities that have made it a well-known destination for visitors to Portland.”
Originally constructed in 1947 as the headquarters of the Portland Press Herald, The Press Hotel was thoughtfully redeveloped into a luxury boutique hotel and today operates as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of independent hotels recognized for their individual character and design. The property features 110 guestrooms and suites, UNION restaurant, the Inkwell cocktail lounge, approximately 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and curated art and design elements inspired by the building’s journalistic heritage. The high-quality, recently renovated hotel is located within Portland’s Old Port neighborhood, providing convenient access to the city’s restaurants, shops, waterfront attractions, and cultural institutions.
Portland is a well-established leisure destination that continues to benefit from tourism, infrastructure investment, and business activity. The city attracts visitors from across the country and is supported by air service through Portland International Jetport, as well as ongoing public and private investment throughout the region.
The acquisition further expands EOS’s presence in New England, where the firm owns and operates a portfolio of hospitality properties across Maine, Massachusetts, and other resort destinations. EOS continues to seek investment opportunities in hospitality and residential real estate across markets where it can leverage its operating expertise and long-term relationships.
