Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness, a national community of indoor climbing gyms offering bouldering, rope climbing, yoga, fitness and youth programs, is celebrating Global Climbing Day on Saturday, July 18 with a nationwide day of free climbing, community programming and special activations powered by The North Face.

Global Climbing Day is an annual celebration of the climbing community and the sport’s ability to bring people together. On July 18, all Movement locations nationwide will open their doors for guests to experience climbing, yoga and fitness through complimentary gym access, free rentals, and special programming designed for climbers of all experience levels.

“Global Climbing Day is one of our favorite days of the year because it gives us the opportunity to welcome new faces into our gyms and celebrate the community that makes climbing so special,” said Anne-Worley Moelter, CEO of Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness. “Together with The North Face, we’re creating more opportunities for people to discover climbing, build connections and experience the energy of the Movement community.”

Guests visiting Movement gyms on Global Climbing Day will have access to:

  • Free gym access and climbing rentals
  • Free introductory climbing, yoga and fitness classes
  • Movement team member support to help new climbers get started
  • A special in-gym membership offer: 50% off the first month of membership plus a $0 initiation fee (available exclusively on Global Climbing Day)

In addition to the nationwide celebration, four Movement locations will host flagship Global Climbing Day events featuring enhanced programming, athlete appearances and unique community experiences:

  • Movement RiNo (Denver, CO) – Featuring professional climbers Andres Marin and Cedar Wright
  • Movement Rockville (Rockville, MD) – Featuring professional climbers Ben Mayforth and Savannah Cummins
  • Movement Grapevine (Grapevine, TX) – Featuring professional climber Maureen Beck
  • Movement Sunnyvale (Sunnyvale, CA) – Featuring professional climber Thomas Bukowski

Flagship events will include opportunities to climb alongside athletes, live screen printing, community art projects and additional activities celebrating the creativity and connection at the heart of climbing. All Movement gyms will also offer The North Face swag giveaways during the event.

“Climbing has always been about more than reaching the top of the wall — it’s about the people you meet and the community you build along the way,” said Denise Anderson, Head of Marketing for The North Face. “We’re excited to partner with Movement to make Global Climbing Day accessible to more people and inspire the next generation of climbers.”
