Georgetown Prepares Future Leaders for an AI-enabled Workplace with the Master’s in Strategic Leadership & AI
PR Newswire
WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2026
WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries, organizations, and the nature of work. Yet technology alone will not determine how well organizations navigate this rapidly changing landscape; effective leadership requires the ability to integrate AI with organizational strategy and thoughtful decision-making. In response to these demands, Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is launching the Master’s in Strategic Leadership & AI, preparing leaders to navigate technological change with strategic insight and purpose.
The Master’s in Strategic Leadership & AI program develops students to guide teams, drive organizational change, and make strategic decisions by leveraging AI as a leadership tool. Rooted in a human-centered approach emphasizing ethical leadership and responsible AI adoption, the program prepares students to lead their organizations at the dynamic intersection of strategy, execution, and AI.
Upon completion, graduates will gain two separate credentials: both a Master of Professional Studies degree and an embedded Professional Certificate in Coaching Skills for Strategic Leaders. Essentially, students will graduate with two credentials for the investment of one.
“Without question, AI has become a driving force behind business transformation. We urgently need leaders who are at the vanguard of AI-enabled transformation in their industries, not simply reacting to it,” says Kelly Otter, Ph.D., dean of the School. “This innovative program equips leaders with the knowledge and skills to move beyond operational management, shape strategic direction, and execute strategy effectively in an AI-driven era.”
Offered in an asynchronous, online format, the interdisciplinary program integrates leadership coaching, change management, ethics, and responsible AI adoption. An optional global study tour offering immersive international leadership perspectives and organizational practices will also be available.
“The future of leadership is not about choosing between people and AI. It is about bringing them together,” says George Moschoglou, Ph.D., faculty director and professor of the practice. “Tomorrow’s leaders won’t just manage people; they will orchestrate teams of people and AI agents to drive innovation, improve decision-making, and create value. This program was created for professionals who want to lead with confidence in an increasingly AI-enabled world.”
The new master’s program is designed for aspiring and first-time managers, as well as emerging leaders and experienced professionals with five to 15 years of experience. Technical knowledge of AI development is not required.
Applicable across a wide variety of industries, graduates will be prepared for roles such as director, strategy or transformation lead, portfolio manager, product or operations manager, and business unit manager.
Rooted in Georgetown’s mission-driven and values-based education, the School of Continuing Studies is committed to fostering the workforce of tomorrow. Applications for the Master’s in Strategic Leadership & AI are now open, with classes beginning Fall 2027. For more information, prospective students can sign up to attend the SCS Open House on October 6, or attend a program webinar on November 6.
