CardSight AI Crosses 10,000 Identifiable Trading Card Sets With Soccer Launch and Industry-Leading Speed & Transparency

CardSight, the company’s identification product, adds soccer and graded slab certificate numbers while responding in under 400 milliseconds.

Most trading card identification systems get slower and more expensive with every set they add. CardSight just crossed 10,000 sets and still answers in under 400 milliseconds on average.”

PORTLAND, ME, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CardSight AI, Inc., the trading card infrastructure platform, today announced that CardSight, its trading card identification product, now identifies soccer trading cards. With soccer card identification live, CardSight identifies more than 10,000 distinct sets across every supported sport & TCG segment, and it does so with an average response time of under 400 milliseconds.

The milestone arrives alongside a new capability for graded trading cards: CardSight now extracts the certificate number when it identifies a graded slab. Taken together, the updates mark a point CardSight AI has been building toward since its first baseball release in January. The company now offers the fastest, most accurate, and most transparent trading card identification in the industry, at a scale no other provider has been willing to put a number on.

Soccer joins CardSight

Soccer is the world’s most popular sport, and its trading cards are collected on every continent. CardSight launches with more than 1,000 soccer sets from the past decade, the period collectors call the ultra-modern era, including releases from Topps and Panini. More soccer sets are being added every week.
Soccer is a demanding segment for any AI identification system. The same player can appear for club and country in the same season, in different kits, across releases tied to domestic leagues, continental competitions, and international tournaments. Ultra-modern releases add long runs of parallels and serial-numbered variations that differ only in color or finish. CardSight handles soccer trading cards the way it handles every other segment. It accepts an ordinary photo, taken at any angle, with as many as nine trading cards in the frame, and identifies each one.

For developers, soccer requires no new integration. Apps that already use CardSight for sports card or Pokémon identification gain soccer card identification through the same sports card API, with the same API key and the same subscription.

10,000 sets, under 400 milliseconds

Identification gets harder as it grows. Every set an AI identification system supports is one more it has to tell apart from all the others. For most providers, that means slower responses and a platform that costs more to maintain every time coverage expands.

CardSight AI built CardSight to avoid that trade. Coverage has grown from 8,000 sets in September to more than 10,000 today, spanning baseball, football, basketball, hockey, MMA, and soccer on the sports side, and Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece on the trading card game side. Across all of it, CardSight responds in under 400 milliseconds on average at 99.5% accuracy. Each request also does more than it ever has, including reading the certificate number from a graded slab.

That combination of breadth, speed, and accuracy comes from deliberate architecture and from the engineering team behind it. CardSight was designed so that adding a new segment does not tax the segments already there. New releases continue to become identifiable within days of reaching shelves, with no change on the builder’s side. The 10,000th set is as fast to identify as the first.

The number other providers do not publish

CardSight AI publishes how many sets CardSight can identify, and developers can check whether a specific set is supported through the API before they write any code. The company is not aware of another trading card identification provider that publishes that number at all.

Builders choosing an identification partner should ask for it. Coverage decides whether an app recognizes the trading card a collector is actually holding, and an app that fails on a collector’s favorite set does not get a second chance. A provider confident in its coverage has no reason to keep the figure private.

Certificate numbers from graded slabs

CardSight already identifies graded slabs from the major grading companies, including PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, and TAG, and returns the grading company and the grade. It now returns the certificate number as well.

An app can take one photo of a slab and receive the trading card, the grade, and the certificate number as structured data, ready to attach to an inventory record, add to a listing, or match against the grading company’s own records. Nobody has to type a long number by hand or fix the typos that follow. For marketplaces, vaults, consignment services, and trading card shops that process slabs in volume, that removes one of the slowest steps in intake.

“Most trading card identification systems get slower and more expensive with every set they add. CardSight just crossed 10,000 sets and still answers in under 400 milliseconds,” said Eric Nusbaum, Co-Founder and CEO of CardSight AI. “This is a checkered flag moment for us, and the credit goes to our architecture and to the team that built it. We publish our numbers because we are proud of them. Any builder evaluating identification should ask every provider how many sets they support, and notice who answers.”

Availability

Soccer card identification and graded card certificate number extraction are available now through the CardSight AI API for every CardSight AI subscriber, including accounts on the free tier. CardSight works alongside the CardSight AI trading card catalog and transparent market data, so builders get identification, catalog, and pricing from a single provider, with SDKs for Node.js, Python, Swift, Java, and .NET and MCP endpoints for AI agents. Developers can start for free at https://cardsight.ai, explore the API in the browser at https://play.cardsight.ai, and review the API documentation.
